It\u2019s not one of the enduring green mysteries of all time, it is just the way it works.\u201d <\/em>&#8211;&nbsp;Herb Kelleher (Co-founder, Chairman Emeritus and former&nbsp;CEO&nbsp;of&nbsp;Southwest Airlines)<\/span><\/h6>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Employee engagement, it\u2019s a buzz word that we all are always engaged with\u2026!!<\/p>\n<p>Every organization focusses on building its brand, increasing sales and making more money. Of course! That\u2019s what the business is here for, isn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n<p>However, there is something beyond that\u2026 the business if it focuses merely on numbers will be unable to capitalize on its most important asset \u2013 its employees!<\/p>\n<p>Surveys have revealed that employee engagement is correlated to improvement in performance and reduction in employee retention, what better would an organization want..<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #187cab;\"><strong>A survey conducted in 2011-12 &amp; 2017 titled the Gallup\u2019s State of the Global Workforce report indicated that<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n<ol>\n<li>15% of employees worldwide are engaged in their jobs.<\/li>\n<li>1.4 billion have a good job, and just 16% of those are engaged.<\/li>\n<li>That low percentage of engaged employees is a barrier to creating high-performing cultures. It implies a stunning amount of wasted potential, given that business units in the top quartile of our global employee engagement database are 17% more productive and 21% more profitable than those in the bottom quartile.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1739\" src=\"https:\/\/www.remi.edu.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/09\/Employee-motivation.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"887\" height=\"591\"><\/p>\n<h5><strong>Given these inferences, sharing some tips that an organization can look into:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>REWARDING AND APPRECIATION<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Who doesn\u2019t like being appreciated?<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s one of the easiest and the most effective forms of empowerment and encouragement.<\/p>\n<p>Recognizing your employees\u2019 contribution boosts their morale and pushes them to contribute beyond their imagined capabilities.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong>ALLOWING INTRAPRENEURSHIP<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Commonly defined : Employees are entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n<p>Encouraging intrepreneurship opportunities instills in the mind of the employees a sense of ownership and accountability that drives growth.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong>COMMUNICATION AND TRANSPARENCY<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Multiple researches, theories and blogs emphasize &nbsp;the importance of transparency in the organization coupled with a strong process of internal communication.<\/p>\n<p>The question we need to ask is, \u201c Do we encourage and adopt this culture of transparency?\u201d<br \/>\nInvolving your employees in the larger organizational goals motivates them to structure their micro targets.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a minor step towards achieving larger goals.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong>TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Training your employees is not just a need but a necessity.<\/p>\n<p>An investment in employee skill development can improve your workforce confidence resulting in higher sales and returns.
